We have been using social media for years now and have had great success with it. The question remains why use it and what good does it do?

Social media is one of the fastest growing segments of Internet usage many people now spend more time on Facebook than watching TV.

Social media comes in many forms; link sharing sites like Twitter, Digg, Propeller, stumble Upon and Delicious help drive traffic by telling people what sites you think are worth sharing. Utimately other users of those sites hopefully click and follow your link increasing your traffic and your ranking.

Sites like Facebook and MySpace allow you to display content and links to information on your site or just to blather on about something related to your business.

But the real benefit to these sites is the accessibility to millions of potential clients you may not have otherwise reached. Facebook; in particular offers very useful advertising options, that can be used to target people based on personal likes and interests as well as gender, age, location and education.

Facebook and MySpace also allow you to update your "friends/fans" of news or events via their connection to your presence on those sites.

Selling horse farms like the several we have listed means that we often use ads to target users of social media who have an expressed interest in horses, horse training or equestrian sports.

Social media works best when others like the content of your blog, website or page and share it with friends through their social network.

Please feel free to click the share button above and become one of our Facebook friends also.
